to CCF. it might be a very minor Grease Filled Die or well placed wear damage from circulation. John1

@Chavez, first welcome to CCF. Second, the letter T most likely did not strike up completely due to a little bit of grease in the die during the minting process. Yours is a interesting example, but probably not worth a premium over face value.

"In God We Rust" Have seen a few threads in the CCF relating to this problem. Gets me to thinking: Apparently, the Founding Fathers never considered the embarrassing possibility of Grease Filled Dies.

This is a very minor Grease Filled Die. You want to keep the ones with completely missing letters or almost completely missing letters. Your Quarter is worth face value because this is too minor.

This was discovered way back in the day. People were looking for doubled dies, and they were giving names to all kinds of junk to sell them to untaught. Now looking back, Wexler on the obverse dies shows all kinds of doubled years on the States series, but only one proof doubled die was super nice. The rest, just little doubled ear lobes. How many coins were looked at back them searching for something that wasn't there during that time. Best to look for what is listed on Wexlers' site first before realizing you were looking in the wrong areas.
