Hi guys, it's been a while since I've posted here. I met up with an old friend, he has this 2006 cent and is asking me to make a fair offer. Ive seen one like this in the past but don't know what it is or what it's value would be. Any help would be awesome Sorry bout the crappy pic quality. I only had a minute and it was bad lighting condition.

I don't believe that to be an error. Home made based on the mirrored design. Vise job.

I would prefer to see this outside of that old flip. However, if this is what I think it is, then it is an early strike reverse strike full brockage (the elements are only slightly enlarged). This is formed from being struck over an anvil die cap. I wonder if it is related to this one: http://goccf.com/t/158225 is the one your friend has magnetic (CPS) or not (CPZ)? If it was mint state red, that is a minimum CAN $750 error. The example you show here, is worth a minimum CAN$350 in my opinion, maybe more in an auction and more than one person wants it.

Does not look like vise job too me either. You can see where the left side was struck within the right side with the rim missing around the beads. Really cool too see both sides !

This is an in-collar first-strike brockage of the hammer die's design (reverse design). A newly-struck cent remained behind in the striking chamber while staying firmly seated on the anvil (obverse) die. Then a fresh planchet (your coin) was fed on top of it. Both discs were then struck within the collar. A highly desirable error.
