Oh man, what you use to clean that thing? Steel Wool? Yeech! The obverse is completely trashed, coin is really an ungradeable mess now, sorry. The reverse is OK, would pull a fair SP-64 at least, but those scratches and roughnesses in the fields would put it in a body bag from a TPG. it would be a details coin.

Looking closer at the reverse, either that's bad pix or crap at 11 and 1-5, Danger Will Robinson!

Mint sets often had horrible coins from the start. I always wondered what the mints were thinking when they dropped these coins into plastic. Most of the Kennedy halfs I yanked from mint sets are not worth grading. Your coin doesn't look like it was cleaned. It looks exactly like the ones I have. My guess would be these marks are caused at the mint when they are tossed into large bags or barrels, dumped, shipped, slid across tables before some low paid worker placed them into the mint set packaging.

I just saw this 67 SMS half in another thread. This is what I would expect an SMS Kennedy half to look like.

Of the SMS sets I broke apart, the 66 and 67 tended to be nicer than the 65.
