to CCF. Please post pics properly oriented. It is not the "big doubled die" for that year. Having trouble seeing any doubling.

To CCF! It's not a Doubled Die Obverse at all, not even close to the "big one". Your coin is normal with circulation wear and staining. Worth face value. Here's what it's supposed to look like. From Lincolncentresource.com. http://www.lincolncentresource.com/...69Sddo1.html

Could you please get a close-up photo of the date? This is definitely not the big DDO (DDO-001) but I want to confirm it's not DDO-002.

to the CCF!

Forget the date, look at the motto.

If it doesn't look like this, forget about it.. Then it isn't from that die.

Probably less than 100. Looking at the die state, they are all EDS coins. So they got pulled early. Because of the MD on the 1968-1972 cents, everyone thinks they found one. The odds are against them.

Thanks coop,

That would account for the five figures price and more.

Of the ones from PCGS the MD examples are in the 70% range for the big DDO.

Interesting Coop. Thank you for sharing! It's pretty cool that Doubled Dies can have Machine Doubling too.

A doubled die, does through the same motions as a normal die. If the machine is loose, it going to show MD on a doubled die. I didn't realize until I check PCGS for the 1969-S DDO that there were so many that would be MD. Now we know.
