Hi first I need to know if the coin on the right is an example of infrequent reeding. It has some of the diagnostics of a VAM 13, as these pictures show, tho this is the only star I saw anything on. But it also was attributed as a VAM 30 Pitted reverse. I will try to get decent pics of the whole thing if the consensus is infrequent reeds.
Nope, it's normally reeded. The lands (high points) and grooves (low points) of the reeding are the same width on each coin; an Infrequently Reeded 1921 has lands which are visibly wider than the grooves. The spines aren't always present in the grooves. The S is a hub characteristic, present on all 1921's of that berry count. VAM-30 has been rolled into VAM-15, having been identified as an early rusted die state of VAM-15. Not that you're out of luck; it's one of the rarer Pitted Reverse 1921's.
