Errers and Varietys Bedrock of the Community United States 74770 Posts	Posted 05/20/2018 2:20 pm Plating Bubbles are very common on the Copper plated Zinc cents. Zinc dust gets on the Planchets, causing bubbles to appear on the Copper plating. No premium for the since it's very common and not collectable. Errers and Varietys. Report this Post to the Staff
Conder101 Bedrock of the Community United States 17884 Posts	Posted 05/21/2018 10:20 pm As mentioned plating bubbles. They had a REAL problem with that in 1982 and 83. They got better once they added a trace of copper to the zinc core (which allowed the plating to adhere better) but they have never solved the problem completely and plating bubbled still can be found on the recent zinc cents.
