Howdy. Any thoughts on the perimeter of this 88 D Nickel obverse?

Thanks

Or a commercial clothes dryer. Note the rolling over of the rims.

Ok do you think any of this is caused by the heat of a dryer of some type? Thanks

Not the heat but rather the mechanical abrasion.

This is a Dryer Coin. This is Post Strike Damage (happened after it left the U.S. Mint). Worth face value since it's just damage.

Not the heat as much as the long fall from the top over and over:

They could have been in there a very long time if nobody heard them in the dryer. The heat is not enough to affect the metal. The pounding on the coin is what causes it to roll over the edges of the coin.
