Conder101 Bedrock of the Community United States 17884 Posts	Posted 06/04/2018 09:40 am The lettering is added after the coins have been struck, The struck coins enter the edge lettering machine randomly as to heads or tails up orientation. Get a large quantity of dollar coins of any particular president and you find the "up and down" orientation of the lettering is about 50% one way and 50% the other. Report this Post to the Staff
Jim0815 Pillar of the Community United States 5239 Posts	Posted 06/04/2018 09:55 am It is absolutely normal for the Presidential dollar coins for them to be 50% what you are calling "Inverted". Half with the collar lettering rightside up on the obverse and 50% rightside up on the reverse. Report this Post to the Staff
