You are probably right. The reason I thought clash is because there appears to be vertical elevation difference. Is it possible that the obverse die was chipped during a clash making the area at the top appear as a crack. Not trying to create an argument, just trying to learn.

It is about to become a die break, that piece of the die is sinking further into itself creating the vertical elevation difference.
