I got this 2015 US Quarter in my change the other day and it caught my attention.

I know little to nothing about coin errors so any assistance would be appreciated.

My apologies in advance for my ignorance of terminology.

1. There the "half-moon" type line across top third of coin.
2. The weird indentation that goes through the G in "In God We Trust".

The reverse of the coin is perfectly normal.

Looks like stains on the coin on the low part of the coin. Does the upper area have a raised line there? It so it maybe a die crack. if not, then it is not stained on that area.

I agree that it looks like staining of some sort. The "half moon" area without staining may have been protected at some point, such as with glue that subsequently fell off.

It's a stain, not an error coin. It's Post Strike Damage (happened after it left the U.S. Mint). Worth face value
