pyrbob Rest in Peace United States 1943 Posts	Posted 06/24/2008 06:16 am A lamination is when the metal of the coin is not mixed properly and pieces start to split off. It usually looks like flakes peeling from the coin. What you have hear is just damage to the mint mark. Sorry but no lamination. Report this Post to the Staff
coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 06/24/2008 10:11 am Looks like heavy die wear in the last image and the first few images shows damage. Maybe a coin wrapper got it, or just damaged. Doesn't really matter, the coin is worth melt. Report this Post to the Staff

Also, the coin shows no evidence of having been damaged by a coin wrapping or rolling machine. The likely culprit is a grease filled portion of the numeral on the die that distorted a portion of it on the struck coin. It is a common occurrence and adds no additional premium to the coin.
