1980 Lincoln With Lamination Error On Date.

A lamination is when the metal of the coin is not mixed properly and pieces start to split off. It usually looks like flakes peeling from the coin. What you have hear is just damage to the mint mark. Sorry but no lamination.

Looks like heavy die wear in the last image and the first few images shows damage. Maybe a coin wrapper got it, or just damaged. Doesn't really matter, the coin is worth melt.

Confirming die wear - not lamination. Here is an example of lamination error:

Hi,
As mentioned, the coin is not a lamination error.

Also, the coin shows no evidence of having been damaged by a coin wrapping or rolling machine.

The likely culprit is a grease filled portion of the numeral on the die that distorted a portion of it on the struck coin.

It is a common occurrence and adds no additional premium to the coin.

I agree with foundinrolls on this one stike through grease error, I have one like that posted in the different forum website. It's a 1982 Philly LMC.
