Hi, I am very new at this. I came across this penny. Can anybody help me?are these a usual error or damages? On both sides there are lots of dots, also on letters and there are other mistakeslike tge T looks weird, the date I assume is 1984 but I can be wrong. It looks like extra metal, same material.

@Kalamiti88, first welcome to CCF. Second, in addition to seeing some small plating bubbles, I see several areas where there is now a hole in the copper plating and the underlying zinc is starting to corrode. This is common and your coin can be safely spent.

Pretty easy to make these. You take a straight pin and puncture the plating. Then it will look like your coin. But I don't have the desire or the time to do that.

To CCF! This isn't an error. This is Post Strike Damage (happened after it left the U.S. Mint). It's Zinc Rot. It's caused by the Copper plating getting split. Once the Copper layer gets split, the Zinc core is exposed and will eventually rot into nothing. Worth face value since it's only damage. http://www.error-ref.com/zinc-deter...ncoln-cents/

You can keep it if you like, but just remember, it's only worth 1 cent.
