I have this 1942 wheatie and it weighs in at 2.2 grams. Now, I have to tell you this thing is a mess. Not sure if it is just worn down so much, it has lost some weight. School me please.

Looks like it took a bath in acid. If you use the CCF search function with the key words ACID CENT, you will find other examples.

It was dipped in acid, causing the coin to reduce in size. It's Post Strike Damage and not an error coin.

Acid ate away at the coin and reduced its weight and appearance.

No. But when we used to go on vacation and I would put a quarter on top of a shampoo bottle to keep it from leaking. The shampoo turned the quarter green in a matter of hours. Not a pretty site. Imagine what it does to you head?
