I've had this coin for years and I've looked at it many times with different magnifying glasses but it wasn't until I used the magnifying camera that attaches to my phone did I see what looks like the letter d where the mint mark is supposed to be for the 1916 dime. It's a lot smaller than any photo I've seen online so I'm hoping someone can help me and tell me if it's at all possible that this is a D mint mark. Thanks so much

I think I see what you are talking about but it is in the wrong location to be a D on a 16 D.

I see what could be a D but think it's just a sort lumpy mass or something like that. How worn is the rest of the coin?

Looks more like an O. Now just think if you found a 1916 O coin. Would be worth more than any D.   What ever it is, it's not a D.

NO. Mint marks on coins are raised above the surface. There is no Mercury dime with a mint mark in that position.
