Hi! I'm new to this forum as well as to collecting in general.. I have however read through multiple previous threads on coin community and was wondering if you guys can help me. I recently found a 1997 d Roosevelt dime that I was thinking could be an error coin. It looks like it maybe a strike through? Also, there is some doubling on the reverse that I'm hoping isn't MD. Does this look like a genuine error to anyone else or just PMD? Thanks in advance!!

Welcome to CCF! What you have here isn't an error, but rather Post Strike Damage (happened after it left the U.S. Mint). You can see the pushed and flattened metal.

It was smashed in something and I don't see any MD there. Totally spendable.

By the way...

Thank you guys! Looking forward to posting more in the future! I was really hoping it was a score but better luck next time right? ! I'm still curious about what I assumed to be doubling around the leaves and also the E and P in pic#2.. As I said before I am new to collecting so I'm not sure I'm looking for the right attributes..

Also the coin in not round. The outside edge is distorted. A sure sign of PSD.
