Ebay Second Chance Offer

Be careful!!!!!!

I have fallen victim to identity theft via ebay. My fault completely. Please DON'T answer/reply/click anything from ebay that comes in your email. To play it safe, always go to ebay.com and send your question to verify the email. Sure it will take an extra 5 mins, but believe me. You don't want to have to worry about having a 0.00 account balance in the a.m., maxed credit cards, and new credit cards coming in the days ahead.

Thankfully I caught everything fast enough and managed to make it out ok. Still lost sleep for a week worrying. ID theft over the internet is a billion dollar /year industry.

I receive maybe a dozen of these fraud ebay, PayPal, bank, Verizon, "government". and (still) Nigerian scam letters per week. If there is any question of their authenticity, I'll go to the website directly through my browser to clarify the issue in the same manner as everyone else who has responded to this thread. On occasion out of curiosity, I've clicked onto the hyperlinks the bogus message included; the websites in many instances are very realistic and someone has gone to a lot of work to emulate the original site. But, it's far safer to go to the real site through a browser rather than a hyperlink.

I've noticed many sellers have stated in their auctions they don't send out second chance offers. Not a bad idea.

I just read the above & would like to make everyone here aware of the dangers of links. Clicking on one of these may not only take you to a spoof website, but also execute code, which can install malicious programs into your system--without your knowledge. These programs can do pretty much what they wish--the worst of which is NOT wiping out your entire system. Many of these programs are keyloggers, which keep track of every single keystroke you make. These are then transferred, again without your knowledge, to whomever created it. This can lead to devastating results--PayPal, ebay, Bank Accounts, complete identity theft. Just a piece of advice, if you've received any (known) spoof emails, delete them outright. Even opening the email can sometimes activate malicious activity.

I send 2nd chance offers at times but it may vary on the buyer as they may accept or refuse the sale.
I dont belive as they are fraud just have to know what is the average selling price as If a buyer finds it may be over the odds they are no oblidged to take the offer as they can wait for the simmilar item to be relisted
