Found this little fella on the floor at work and noticed right away something was funky with the 8. After I got it home and looked under magnification I started finding more and more. Obviously a die chip on the 8 but there's also a crack from the forheas to the end of the nose. I had a little trouble with the angle because of where the crack was on the rounded part of the bridge of his nose. There are also multiple chips and cracks in the usual spots on the top of the shield and the beginnings of one at the base of E in CENT. I also happened to notice what looks like a strike through of a piece of thread or maybe a little piece of wire brissel just to the left of the banner, between it and the edge of the coin. Quite a bit going on for a brand new shield.

Wow! Very nice find! There's so much going on with this coin to the point where it actually makes it unique. You have Die Cracks Die Chips, and a Struck Through error all in one coin. That's very cool.

He didn't mention the bad news. That all this has no premium for them. Just die events. He may have called the broken post a chip. But we have seen that before here.

Coop, there are people willing to pay a couple of bucks for die chips on coins. This particular coin's likely worth around $3 or so, a couple of 2018 cents die chips have sold for around that much over the past couple months on ebay. Since this one has quite a few errors on it, it would likely go for at least that much.

Coop,I wouldn't say that this coin is worthless. Some people like collecting stuff like this, so it's not completely worthless. You could probably get at least a couple of dollars, if you sold it on ebay. It's very cool, since it has more than one error on it.

I only posted it because of the multiple things going on with it. If you notice I've never once asked on here about what a certain error or variety might go for nor have I ever even considered selling anything I've found so far, not that I've found anything worthwhile to sell really. I honestly look because it's interesting and I enjoy it. What monetary value it has never even crossed my mind, besides the fact it's worth $.01.

I do the same thing. I just collect for fun, not caring about if the coin is worth anything or not.

I've been seeing the same forehead crack and etc. on 2018 Phila too.

Just totally forgive everything about the photo, 'k peeps..? It was one of the first attempts with a plasticscope and before I'd gotten external lights.. Merely posting to corroborate OP..

Again going back to the die issue of moving metal around several hundreds of thousands of times, stress the dies. The 2006 cents were the worst for cracks there. (Or we looked more at them because of the large number of doubled dies).
