FYI, I once worked with hardware in a fabrication shop. Hardware came in all sizes by the tons and out by the pounds. Compositions varied, but mainly stainless steel for the product line being fabricated.
Every so often I'd find perfectly sized bolts with no threads also nuts with no threaded center, but lastly perfectly round washer discs with no center punched holes.
Quarter sized is what I remember most. Resembled mint punched blanks, pre-upset. Thanks, Doug.
