My favorite coin is the first coin that got me started ont errors and varieties. It is a 1921 S Morgan dollar VAM 1-L there are only maybe 8 known to exist and it is the start of all my Morgan madness.

It takes alot of studying and learning to understand errors. I'm still learning about errors and etc... Ive been studying errors for about a year now and still got lots to learn. The best way to study errors is to have one to study from. I dont have that kind of money to buy one and learn from it but its the best way to study errors in my opinion. I gotta admit it once you find an error you are hooked.

A great book is the "Error Coin Encyclopedia" by Fred Weinberg. You can pick a copy up at your local coin show or via his website https://www.fredweinberg.com. Lots of great info in there. Takes you through all the major error types.
