Hard to tell from picture if line is incuse or raised
but I'm guessing it is incuse.
If mark is incuse, it is a scratch.
If raised, it is a die crack.

It could be Feeder Finger Damage from a malfunctioning Feeder Finger.

Thinking die gouge from feeder finger on the right. On the left is a bit iffy. I need to look up what years the feeder fingers ran this direction. Thanks, Doug.

I'm thinking rhis is well within the year range for Feeder Finger Damage to occur in this direction. This is the reverse of 1937-s ddo-001 that has Feeder Finger Damage as a marker.

Educate me.
Does Feeder Finger Damage not usually show more than one line
parallel to each other or is it possible to have a single line as FF damage?

The quantity can very just depending on the Die. All the ones I have seen or found run diagonally. You should be able to search the formum JimmyD for Feeder Finger posts so you can see some good examples. I have found them on cents, dimes and quarters so far.

Thanks CCL.
I have seen FF damage before but I always thought that
there was a least two parallel lines to indicate it.
That's why FF damage never crossed my mind.
Always try to learn something new every day so I guess
this is todays lesson.

So these are just scratches which is PMD.

FF die Scratches = raised as well. I have a few posts of my own with FF die scratches in particular some BU dines that I had gotten last year.
