Is it wider in size? If it is, it would be a Texas Cent. If it's not, than it could be struck on a thick planchet. If you can get the weight of the coin when you get home from work, that would be great. :-) Errers and Varietys.

@E&R It is a little wider in size (diameter) also the edge. There is some words or at least a letter "R" right on top of the E in ONE on the reverse. Or maybe my eyes got blur of seeing thing after going through about 50 rolls.

Without a weight, I agree with Crazyb0. A Texas Cent should not be thicker than a normal coin. In fact, I don't think it is thicker at all, but an illusion. Notice the rim is beveled on the "normal" coin while the rim is fully squared on the coin in question. That is due to a higher pressure strike forcing the planchet's metal to fill out the die more completely. In Memory of Crazyb0 12-26-1951 to 7-27-2020

@vietguy I don't know what I was thinking, but 2.54g is slightly overweight, not under. However, it is still completely within allowed tolerances (target weight is 2.5g) and is, therefore, a normal coin. Sorry for the misinformation. In Memory of Crazyb0 12-26-1951 to 7-27-2020

This in neither. This is a case of a higher setup during the blank-planchet conversion. I remembered seeing and saving a few from that time. Even in a 2X2' they feel thicker. It is just the rim that makes it feel thicker. The normal thickness is the same. Just rim height is different. 97-99 I found these. No premium though.
