I haven't looked at very many silver coins so wandering if those lines around head and rim are normal/common

First,not silver but nickel. Looks like a worn die issue to me.

This is called die flow. It happens when the die gets worn from multiple strikes ( Die Deterioration). It's the normal wear and tear process of the die. Here's a thread that I made for starters. It's about Die Deterioration. http://goccf.com/t/317950

The die was in the VLDS state when your coin was struck. No premium, but an education piece on what to expect to see on a die almost ready to retire.About 75% of them are struck during the LDS/VLDS die states. The earlier die states are only 25% of the coins.
