Picked this one up for $44. Seller says the line between the E and Liberty's forelocks is a die crack. Thoughts on grade and problems? Thanks!

Beautiful coin. Agree it's a die crack, but it still take away from the eye appeal, so I'll go with 64.
Rest in Peace

I agree with 65 as well. One heck of a buy for $44.

edit to add - it looks like a VAM-25A. http://www.vamworld.com/1885-O%20VAM-25A

I am at 64 as the reverse fields have a few marks. The VAM on the coin looks like a 25A. There is also a faint die crack that tee's off between the E and forelocks that runs down to the nose and chin. Plus a small die crack between the R and I.

Hmmmm. My thoughts are the first set of pictures were doctored. Must of had an elaborate picture setup. Maybe used blue and red colored background effects that reflected off the coin to give the appearance of toning.
