At first I thought this was just a really jacked up nickel, but then I started noticing some stuff in the background. What would something like this be worth?

I think that your first impression was generally right. The rim is definitely damaged at the date. The marks on the rev generally appear to be normal wear and tear from circulation. The extra "arch" at the top left of the dome on Monticello potentially could be a little interesting. I can't tell if there was a small die clash there (knowing that there is nothing on the obverse die which lines up to make this mark) or, most likely, if it is just unusually-shaped damage.

It's worth 4.87 cents.. Spend it quick before it depreciates further..!

Ok. I might not know a lot about coins... but I do know about metal stamping. It looks like this was a multi hit that slid over inside of the die. There's more than one arch on the dome... there are 3. One right under the A of arch and you can actually see where it slid down and to the left. That flattened out the edge, and caused the damage on the date. You can also see a second imprint of the whole dome down and to the right of the first one. I'm going to take it in and have it checked by the coin guy in town with his fancy microscope, because mine isn't big enough to get a clear close up of the whole coin. I'll go ahead and post pics so you guys can see what I'm talking about though. ;)

It's all Post Strike Damage (it definitely happened after it the the U.S. Mint, period). The metal has been pushed over and flattened. Why do you want to bring it to a coin dealer? A lot of the times, they don't know much about error coins themselves, and will give you false information. Your Nickel is exactly worth 5 cents. It's a spender.
