This 1971 proof has features that match the variety I saw on internet as wddr-002 wrp-001 s/s. I would like to know how to estimate value. If valuable get graded.and possibly sold. I have not encountered such a coin. Was not able to find a variety listing on NGC or PCGS and any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks

to CCF. We need in focus pics and whole coin pics. I just checked Wexlers site and it takes me to Brians site,he has no wddr002. Can you post a link to where you found info? John1

to the forum! I don't where John was looking but there is a 1971-S WDDR-002 and it is paired with WRPM-001. https://www2.briansvarietycoins.com...gs/view/1371We will need much better pics to tell if your attribution is correct or not. It is a very minor doubled die and a very minor RPM.

to the sometimes hard to hear truth! As Tanner said, a minor variety here holding low premiums unless in PR 68 and above. Even that tho is still really not worth the professional attribution costs per realized value(meaning low resales). I buy slabbed PF67/68 of the 70s for @$7, an RPM may increSe it to $12...whoopee, huh?

And if PCGS and NGC do not list the variety on their web sites they will not attribute it on the slab. So you would pay the attribution fee for nothing. You would end up paying $50 or so for a slab that comes back as a regular 1971-S nickel worth a few dollars.

Thank you all for your advice. I'm new to error coins and having a proof nickel with DDO DDR and a rpm seemed like I finally hit the lottery. I am very grateful though for every ones contribution. I thought I finally figured out how to upload pics but the 3 I did I don't see so ill figure it out .thanks
