It would help if you could post close up of areas where you think there is doubling. At least a description of what you see. As is I see no doubling.

The 1982 Large date devices are large. So people often think it is a doubled die. You need to see them side by side to tell for sure and the images need to be this close:

This is a side by side comparison of a normal coin with a doubled die for this year.

Now, all this dialogue is fine with a Class 6 hub doubling when thickness is present. Is the OP asking about the shadow areas to the right of the devices? If so, that is just light refraction on the edges... Move position of light source and it will change. A true Doubled Die will ALWAYS increase the normal sizes of devices.

Make sure to save my image for you educational files. Then you won't have to look high and low to find it. Right click with the mouse on the image and save it to your images file.

Just noticed yours is a Denver cent. The one I posted was a Philly coin. But I wanted you to see how the size of the devices are affected by hub doubling. It enlarges them.

You should include the date, mintmark, and the denomination in your titles.

Why Topic Titles are Important

The title of your topic is very important. Let's say you need help attributing an 1896 Morgan Dollar....

  • Horrendous: Help!

  • Bad: Need help with coin

  • Better: Need help with Morgan Dollar

  • Good: Need help with 1896 Morgan Dollar

  • Awesome: Need help with VAM on 1896 Morgan Dollar

This enables the members with expertise pertaining to your question to easily find and answer your question. The title of the topic also becomes the title of the topic's web page, which enables us to attract more collectors to the site. The more members we have, the more we learn.
