I used to upload images with no problems several months ago but now I am having problems. I get to the point where I finish instruction #5 in free image optimizer (When all images are done, click Save Image(s) and a green download arrow will appear next to each thumbnail) but what happens after that? When I try to upload file but it says too big even though the size is well under 300KB. Didn't have problems in past but cant figure it out now.

The optimizer will have saved the file with a new name. Are you sure you are using the new file and not the original?

Possible missing step: After you click "Save Image" you have to click the green arrow to download the optimized version, which has the new file name that jbuck mentioned. That file is the one you then have to upload to your post.

I just got a new computer and it is Microsoft Edge. I was reading that this may be the problem? When I click on the green arrow, nothing happens.

That's your problem. If you read the instructions at the top of the free image optimizer, it's says "Microsoft Edge will not work at all"

Yep, Microsoft had the longest to make a browser and still makes the worst.

They say Edge is the fastest browser in use right now and that is probably true. It is easy to be fast when you do not completely render most of the content for the web page.

Just because your new computer comes with Edge does not mean you have to use it (at all). Just add another browser, like Firefox, and make it the default browser. Problem solved.
