I see the doubling from the notches in the stars in the last pic. Looks like a doubled die. Nice find!

I do not see any doubling. I also could not find any listing of such a DDR with the exception of an old ANACS slab that simply states DDO / DDR. (With no attribution)

I may be wrong, but it seems to me that you are seeing reflections.

I look at everything through a loop then a bigger loop before I put it under a scope and I had to work hard to get those to show up in the pictures angling light from different directions to get them to show up. As I learned from coop when I was trying to take a picture of my 1960 D rpm.

It's definitely a Doubled Die Reverse. Very nice find and congratulations! I can see the notching on the devices.

Zac: Please include an image of the mint mark location. That will help us to determine if it matches the known locations. I sent John Wexler a note about this year to see if there were some master die or hubing issues. With the absence of the image from 001-006, it makes me wonder if that is the case. Some of the devices on your coin shows a bit of push doubling. UNITED STATES. But it maybe have been pushed from the bottom of the device and not up higher like classic Machine Doubling. So still waiting to hear from John on this years coins.

I have scoped a LOT of Kennedy halves. You have a DDR. For some reason doubling on the stars is difficult to see in pics. But I can make it out in yours even without the arrows. Nice find!

I stand corrected. Congrats on the find. I waited to post this until I was up to post count 2000. I was thinking how to celebrate this humble mile-marker, and what better way than with some humility.

I have gone through a lot of 69S proof half dollars over the years trying to complete the nine listed in the CONECA Master Listings and I have found all of them. I do see some Class II doubling with the doubling towards the center in your photos, note the A in STATES and the stars under. I compared your doubling with all nine listings and I don't think yours, at least looking the photos, matches anything listed. I think yours would be minor doubling. Attached are a couple photos of some doubling on two DDR 69S's I have sent to James Wiles (CONECA) and his comments were "too minor". There are a lot of 69S minor DDR's out there. Larry Nienaber
