I found a collection of wheat pennies, silver dollars, Buffalo nickels, etc...in my basement and I know virtually nothing about coins.

Not really. Only when a very large percentage of the devices are missing, then there is some interest. (80% or more missing)

It was Struck Through Grease, but it's not enough to bring value over face value.

Congratulations, I searched my basement a bunch of times and nobody ever leaves a bunch of coins there for me to find.

@daniellea77, first, welcome to CCF. Second, with regard to your question:

There is a small premium for wheat cents, especially older ones (like yours) and generally more so for those minted in Denver or San Franciso. Does it have a mintmark on the front?

I to wonder about the obverse appearance. The rim seems weaker towards the top and bottom or opposite ends in current image. May just be circulation wear. Might check the weight if possible. Thanks, Doug.

There is no mint mark on the front. Wheat pennies I found are years: 1936, 1925, 1957, 1916, 1917, 1914, 1942, 1956, 1919, 1927, 1925, 1918. Also a bunch of liberty Peace dollars, 1887 one cent, 1921 silver dollar, 1802 liberty one cent(maybe--it's hard to read), 1863 5 cent, assorted silver dollars, one that says 1847 Half Dime. Assorted foreign coins. I think they were my Great grandfathers because I live in my late mothers house and found them in a box of her grandparents stuff.i
