Meow has found this Cat's first Buffalo nickel! Plus another die chip, and a proof. Meow is sure having fun CRH today. Still working on being the worlds best CRH Cat.

The 1964 looks more like a plated coin.

That's too bad......But would not a plated coin lose some details? The reverse looks full steps to Meow.

Here is what a proof nickel looks like. Note the inside of the rim area?
More-Finds-In-Jeff-Rolls.Chip,-Buffalo,-And-Proof
The inside rim is more squared because of the double strikes they normal have. The devices are always fresher. Only 3,000 coins are struck with these dies. Because they are struck so strongly, you can even find dies that are showing die polishing before the 6,000 strikes that usually ends the dies usage and then they are reried.

Meow is confused, are the pictures inverted? But anyway, as Meow was checking out the rim of Meow's coin; Meow noticed it has centering flaw. It might be only a half percent off, but a real proof would not would not have such a flaw. So it seems Meow has a plated coin. Looks like the Cat missed the bird on that one. But why they do such a thing?

If you see a 'D' mint mark, then it is definitely a plated business strike. (On the reverse)

There is no mintmark. But the imperfect rim on Meow's shiny coin means it could not be a proof.
Rest in Peace

A 29-S.

That's a great find, as well as the others catches. Nice to see someone hitting some lucky rolls.

Thanks, Meow had a very good day CRH today. Second ever War Nickel, first ever buffalo, an over polished die, and two die chip nickels.
