I have a very similar 1955d I came across this past weekend. Are these rare? Valuable? Also, The Y looks more like a "V"

Yep, that is a very nice BIE die chip. They seem pretty common so I'm not sure that there is much of a premium on these things.

I wouldn't say rare nor valuable but they are collectable.

You have a "BIE" Die Chip. These are fairly common on the Lincoln Wheat cent. They're not rare, but they do have a small premium (about 1-2 dollars). Still a keeper. Very nice find and congratulations!

Nice find & welcome! You'll notice you start to find a bunch of these. Like coinfrog said , very common in the 50s.
