Hi, I have 2 coins I would like some information please. I think that they are so beautiful, and just neat looking:

First coin - 1999 P Kennedy half dollar:
The obverse is bright brick red spread.
The Reverse is an explosion of eggplant purple and rust colored material mixed with the shiny planchette (metal?)

Second coin - 1984 D Quarter:
The Obverse and Reverse are both mixed with dark brown/red brick mixed with shiny planchette (metal?) Throughout.

These anomalies -for lack of a better term, remind me of the rocks I had in yard growing up, maybe Angelite or similar rock. The camera just doesn't do them justice here. I hope to learn some information about these coins, thank you.

It's just environmental damage/discoloring. It happened after the mint so it is not an error.

These coins could have been buried underground or just exposed to the elements in some way.

It's generally referred to as Environmental Damage.

It's Environmental Damage, not an error. It happened after it left the U.S. Mint, so it's Post Strike Damage. It's only considered an error, if it happened at the U.S. Mint.
Errers and Varietys.

@nh, interesting colors to be sure. Save them if you want but they are only worth face value.
