Not a broken die post. (these only happen on insides Like B, R, 4, O, 0, 8, P,Q, D, 6, 9 (Closed 9). Not an over mint mark. It is from a damaged punch that is used to hammer into the completed dies. The dies being tempered, caused the mint mark punch to be damage after being hammered into so many dies. Happens a lot on several dies. Even RPM images on the sites will show MMP damage, but that is not part of the RPM. It if were almost all coins would be RPM pre 1989.
