I voted cleaned. The coin has obvious wear, lots of tiny hair line scratches abound . Maybe some toning left on coin to detract from a cleaning .

Quote: The coin has obvious wear, lots of tiny hair line scratches abound . Flow lines aren't hairlines. More importantly coins with wear will have marks and lines from being used and carried around

Not a coin I'd have any interest in anyways... I can't stand environmentally damaged (aka:toned) coins.
CRH Nickeloholic. 1,600,000 nickels searched in eight years! Have found FOUR complete Jefferson sets!

Some time pictures may not capture luster and it might have gotten a quick dipped from old cleaning, stored and toned back. But without coin in hand, it's hard to tell.

Sorry I just can't let this comment go without responding to it. Quote: I can't stand environmentally damaged (aka:toned) coins. To each their own. I just picked up a couple environmentally damaged Seated coins (one SLD; one SLH) stickered by CAC. It's too bad because they'd be flawless if not for their obvious "damage".

w/ Mac, a retone after old cleaning. The spot at 7 o'clock obverse is too suspicious plus those "fine lines" on the reverse right field. Seems like someone tried real hard on a cover-up.... well, guess that's "par for the course" today...

Quote: I can't stand environmentally damaged (aka:toned) coins. I am with Chester on this. If you collect Modern coins you might dislike toned coins because they don't look "blast white" and "modern." However, on older coins other than Morgan/Peace/Liberty Walking half/etc. you want toning that shows the coin has original surfaces.

Uncleaned . I don't see any lines on the letters on the reverse. I'm thinking die polishing .

Uncleaned. While some types and dates may have original toning, original blast white luster is possible for the majority of types if you are patient, know the series, and know what a dip or cleaned coin looks like.
