1964 Kennedy (Proof): Doubled Die Obverse / DDO /Qdo (Odv-002) & Type 1 (RDV-001) Reverse?

kevcoins Valued Member United States 116 Posts	Posted 08/09/2018 5:08 pm Hello CCF, Could this be a 1964 Kennedy (Proof) Type 1 DDO or QDO? If so, does it hold any value? Is it rare? Are there any known examples? I searched and searched but can't seem to find anything like it other than DDO'S with a RDV-002 (Flared G) reverse. Coin is still in original mint packaging. I did the best I could with picture quality. Obverse: Appears to have normal hair (ODV-002) obverse with noticeable doubling on In God We Trust, 4 of date and RTY. I in Liberty has full lower left serif. Reverse: Accented Hair (RDV-001) with straight G and broken rays (11-13). Thank you! Report this Post to the Staff

Seems similar to QDO FS-105. Is that tripling or quadrupling on the base of the 4 and base of Y? Report this Post to the Staff

On the Wexler site there is an issue that has been brought to their attention about these DDO's that they are trying to deal with. Not as early a coin with ODV-001 but still relatively early? Also, where were 1964 SMS (Special Strike) coins found; in mint sets or proof sets? Report this Post to the Staff
