1994 D Lincoln Memorial Cent / LMC Obverse And Reverse On The Obverse. Expert Advice Needed.

Jim0815 Pillar of the Community United States 5240 Posts	Posted 08/10/2018 11:54 am I found this 1994 D LMC with the reverse and obverse on the obverse side of the cent. It isn't a vise job nor do I believe this is entirely from staining as the pictures will show raised lines of the reverse. The reverse of this cent is not affected at all and there is no flattening anywhere to show this was put in a vice. Stumped with this one. Insight please as to how this could have happened. Jim0815 Pillar of the Community United States 5240 Posts	Posted 08/10/2018 12:06 pm Chase, my biggest question is if it were another cent on top of this one the why the raised lines to the left of the bust as well as the raised lines IN the bust and why it goes all the way to the bust. Another cent on top would have created a gap between the bust and the field. And, the lines are raised and cannot be removed. I even used a fingernail and it would not move. What are the chances of a die clash affecting the deeper part of the bust design on a die. Non. It happened as mentioned, as sitting on the coin from another coin. Also the dark colored image is upside down from what position the dies would be sitting on a normal die clash. No way this is a mint error. PSD Report this Post to the Staff
