Almost looks like an altered/damaged 'D' mint mark. Do you live in the areas with mostly Philly coins or Denver coins. Where I'm at it about 99% Denver ones.

The mint mark looks like it has taken a well placed hit, causing the metal to get pushed over and flattened.

No I don't live where common D MM are. It's definitely a P, just can't get a good clear close up with my phone

Ok, that is solved. It does look more like the coin took a hit. What is on the edge under the 1?

He is probably talking about this little bump shown in your first picture (indicated by the arrow), and looks like something on the rim.
