Looks like a great lamination. But with the weight normal it may be a struck through error. Being a struck through issue, I would not expect to see the ghost image. But it is a real keeper. Best I've seen for a while. The struck through must have been uneven in thickness and semi soft to leave the ghost images in place.

Weight is the changer on this one. If this had been a very worn coin, then the issue of weight would probably have been missed. But because it is a MS coin, it is a changer of idea.

Very nice, could you get a weight on this coin? It can confirm whether its a lamination or strike through.

Either way almost every LWC I've seen with a strike through or lamination has been circulated, something like this should command an impressive premium I imagine.

Very nice find and congratulations! I'm aiming towards a Lamination error, but we'll need to get the weight, in order to confirm it 100%.

Note on the reverse how the area is very close to the edge of the coin? Probably during the setup process on the upset mill may have loosened that area a bit. After the strike it probably fell off the coin and ended up on the floor, on on the next coin struck? Or it may have fallen off later before someone found it. (You can see that it has been kept safe for sometime.

Nice strike through. Judging by the weight, length and shape, I can picture a large copper fragment getting in the mix. Would be nice if the fragment can be found. Thanks, Doug.
