Two 1973 D Lincoln Memorial penny's with identical errors on the reverse and an error on one of the coins obverse.
As you can see from the pictures the Lincoln Memorial bay between the second and third column's from the left is approximately 3/4 filled in with copper. The bay between the first and second columns is also partially filled with copper. Also but hard to see in the pictures, the third bay is partially filled from the top of the bay to nearly the bottom of the bay.

In addition to the identical errors, there is also a straight line that starts just below the T in IN GOD WE TRUST continues to the bridge of Lincolns nose and then reappears as a double parallel line at the lower back of Lincolns head and continues to just above the E in LIBERTY. This line is on the coin that still has some luster. The line appears to be struck into the coin.

That line through the obverse looks like a die gouge from a feeder finger.

The reverse on both Lincoln Memorial Cents shows a Recurring Die Subsidence error. It's a mysterious form of die failure that they don't know what has caused it exactly. The obverse looks like it shows a Feeder Finger Scrape. http://www.error-ref.com/recurring-...dence-error/

I agree with the reverse diagnosis, but I think the obverse is a die clash. It is by the 1 in the date also. It is called a MAD CLASH.
