Nope, not Struck Through a Die Cap. It was Broadstruck. It was struck without it's collar in place, causing it to expand like a pancake. http://www.error-ref.com/broadstrikes/

What is the diameter?

Broadstruck would certainly explain the drastic split plating and overall appearance.

It's a broadstrike. I see no compelling evidence for more than one strike. The split plating doubling extending out from the peripheral letters is a common effect that requires only one strike.
