No it's not an S-VDB, but what do you expect for only $2,500, and free shipping too! And a lovely shade of brown. Seems like there is always someone out there trying rip off the unsuspecting.

The seller claims it is a matte proof but PCGS and ANACS say otherwise.

I think I trust PCGS and ANACS opinions more than I do the sellers!

However, there is no shortage of uninformed idiots out there in Coinland that just might buy it.

Julian Leidman does this all the time. He prices coins per his opinion and not the opinion of a TPG. Sometimes he has been proven correct and the TPG proven wrong. Not saying that's the case here but it has happened.

I can't tell from his photos for sure but he may be correct. Not sure why he doesn't post images of the die markers, however.....

When I was more active on PCGS boards mid 2000's, Julian seemed to be one of the good guys. His coins were usually not ones I was chasing, but reputation seemed to be positive overall.

Sometimes you have to pay the piper until he agrees. Wonder how many times it has been sent in?

So if your were convinced that it really was a $15,000 coin would you offer to sell it for $2,500?
Doesn't pass the giggle test.

I have bought a couple of coins from him in problem free slabs at decent prices. My only observation on some of his listings is that he seems to ignore if there are any problems on the slab and wants to get problem free prices for them. But overall seems like a decent seller to me.

Good luck reselling this as a matte proof if you're not Julian Leidman.
