Total newbie - but have come across interesting coins while metal detecting, and just found a 1964 penny that caught my attention because of its color. I understand that most 1964 pennies with no mint mark are not special, but after lookiking it up, it seems that some are.....and I don't have a trained eye and even after looking for the distinguishing signs, and seeing pics, I can't really see a difference between the valuable and the non-valuable pennies. I don't expect it to be anything, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask people with actual coin knowledge just out of curiosity. Not great close up pics, but hoping they're good enough to see if it is anything cool. (Having trouble posting pics - and will have to get on the computer since they won't upload from my iPhone)

To CCF , 1964 and 1964-D Lincolns are extremally common . If you dug it up in dirt, Not Sand it almost always comes out a funky ugly brown dirty color . Copper coins do not hold up well at all from being buried a long time in soil .
Would love to see photos of what your talking about .

I'm having a horrible time with my very slow laptop uploading the pics of the back or my comparison pics. I use the optimizer, but when I click on the green arrow, the computer just freezes. ugh.
