Looks like some Environmental Damage going on. Maybe the Planchet was on the floor, and someone threw in it the hopper?

I'm wondering what the others think of the OP's coin? Any help anybody?

I don't like that ram bag design for shipping coins. Do you ever get any without scratches out of those? to the forum.

Nothing I can see that says that it's a RAM bag. More likely a security Company and who knows what they do to coins before they bag them. Coin looks like it's been blow-torched. Not an error though, just PMD.

Could also be a defective coin (more likely) or mint sport (someone doing it for a joke).

Have you taken one out of its bag yet for a closer inspection and investigation?
