@MT631, first welcome to CCF. Second, it looks to me like your cent has Die Deterioration Doubling. Here is an old CCF thread that discusses this:

Does DDD commonly show up in the entire numeral? Because in the picture, you can see the entire "8"

You can find things like this on many of the Cents from the 80's. Really made a lot of garbage back then.

On the '8', it looks like a split plating issue.
