Hello, I'm new here and have posted about a few other pennies I have found in my drawer. http://goccf.com/t/327405#2794015 Is my first post. I have three pennies from the 50s and am wondering:
Are they rare?
Which year holds the most value?
Are they collectibles?
Is it better to hold on to these for a few years, sell them, or use them as currency?

Thanks

I am not one of the experts here but I know the 1955 is valuable if its a double die penny—rare penny

All very common, just worth a few cents each at most.

None are rare or look like a variety even, so as "wheaties" they are worth about 2 cents if you sell them in LARGE quantities (1000, 5000), dealers may give ya 2c, usually 1.5c per, then sell for 3-4c to some gullible rookie as "unsearched".

They are not rare. They're actually very common to find, and are only worth very little over face value in average circulated condition.

Depends a little on your goals and the size of the collection. If you only have a dozen or so, then assuming you can sell them for three or four cents each means that you'll make less than 50 cents profit. We all probably have that much in our couch cushions right now...

For me, I'd rather give them to a young relative (son, daughter, niece, etc.) as the seeds of their own collection.

Nice few Wheaties to start a set going 1941-PDS to 1958-PD.
Pick yourself up the folder for these Lincolns and you'll soon be hooked . You can find many to fill your folder by roll hunting from the bank or just looking at your change . When the tough dates have you down you can go on e-bay and buy them very cheap . Whichever way you want to go , just have fun with the hobby .
