Normally I do not buy holed coins. However, I saw this a few weeks ago at a show. I made an offer and the coin was mine. I have been looking for the right coin of this ruler for a while and despite the hole I really liked the look of this one.

William I silver penny, PAX Issue, Spink 1257, obverse reads:- +PILLELM REX [`MR` ligulate], reverse reads:- +EDRIC ON LUND
Ex: Ancient Numismatic Enterprises
Purchased at the RCNA August 8, 2018 Toronto

Very nice! William the Conqueror has always been a favorite historical figure of mine (it boggles the mind to thing that his great(^n) granddaughter is the current sitting monarch of the UK!) But his coins are quite pricy.

I rather like the portrait on this one - the face of an old man revelling in his victories.
