To CCF! That's not an error. That's Post Strike Damage (it happened after it left the U.S. Mint). It's a damaged coin. It's not worth anything unfortunately.

@Lizzi72, first welcome to CCF. Second, best practice is to start a new thread when you have a coin to post rather than tacking on to an existing thread--no prob though, I've just asked the mods to split out your post. Your coin has multiple areas of damage. The region across Lincoln's face may have been a lamination, but much more likely is just an old scrape. Normally, wheat cents from the 20s command a small premium over face value, but the damage to yours decreases that.

Thank You so much, I appreciate the help on posting too!! I know the pictures don't really show up well, I thought it was a scrape or scratch too, But up close it actually looks like it was made that way as the areas around it are smooshed and or there but not as they should be, I can try to take better photos showing the areas up close. there are actual blobs of metal in some areas

This is the best I can get by enlarging the region of interest and enhancing. Certainly could be a scrape.

Damage after the coin was minted and then years of circulation smoothed it out.
