1945 Nickel - Coin Community Forum

killians76 Pillar of the Community United States 986 Posts	Posted 07/10/2008 4:00 pm I was wondering if yall have heard of a 1945 nickel having a double stamp. I ran across one and decided to scan it. It looks to me that the e in liberty is double stamped on the bottom of it and the r in liberty also has some slight stamping between the bottoms of the legs. I would love to send a picture but I couldn't get it to load. Maybe I can just send one directly to email if you are interested and would like to help me out. Thanks a lot. It was a master die issue that caused a huge number of these to be struck from all mints. Interesting as an example, but basically no premium other than the silver melt value.
