1987 D Lincoln Penny With A "4" Struck Above Liberty?

Jrock85 New Member United States 11 Posts	Posted 08/29/2018 8:42 pm Hi I'm new to the coin error community. I came across a very dirty rough 1987 D penny. As I started to clean it off, I noticed what appears to be a small number 4 above liberty. There is a scratch next to the "4".I I have never heard of or seen an example of any thing like this. Jim0815 Pillar of the Community United States 5239 Posts	Posted 08/29/2018 9:16 pm to the CCF! Is the 4 that you're seeing raised or does it appear as if it's been punched? Cannot tell by the pic you posted. If it is punched into the cent then it would be post strike damage. It would not have left the mint like that.
