I have a 1972 D dime. The planchet it is struck on is definitely smaller than everyday dimes you see in circulation. 1972, in god we trust and liberty are all slightly defected by the rim of the coin. Is this normal to find out a valuable find?
@Jamesie90, first welcome to CCF. Second, as there are different reasons why something like this might occur, we are going to need pics of your coin to be able to help you.
"If you climb a good tree, you get a push." -----Ghanaian proverb
"The danger we all now face is distinguishing between what is authentic and what is performed." -----King Adz
Are the reeds on the outside edge of the coin? If so, then it is normal in size. The are formed by the die filling the collar coins enlarging the coin during the strike. Check other examples from that year to see if they all look like that or not?
